Kemps Nickels for Schools 2006-07 Extraordinary Students
Guidelines - Contest is open to all K-12 schools that are enrolled in Kemps Nickels for Schools.
Kemps will select three grand prize winners – one each from the following: elementary school, middle/junior high school and high school. Grand prize winners will each receive $5,000 cash from Kemps, to be donated to the student’s school. Grand prize winners will also be featured on Kemps Milk plastic gallon labels - Kemps will select 15 first place winners. First place winners will each receive $500 from Kemps to be donated to the students’ schools.
- All winning students will receive free Kemps milk for a year (quantity to be determined by Kemps)
- Nominations:
- Must clearly state the name of the school and in what grade the nominated student is currently enrolled
- Must consist of a brief essay (no more than 750 words) describing:
- the student’s volunteer efforts, which can encompass any facet of the student’s lifeand
- how the student’s volunteer efforts make him/her a better student, or how the student’s volunteer efforts make the school and/or classroom a better place
- Can be supported by up to three documents – photos, letters of gratitude, news articles, etc.
- Must come from a person who is at least 18 years old. (Minors may participate in creating the nomination, but the essay must be written by an adult.)
- Must include a telephone number and email address for the person submitting the nomination.

- Deadline for submitting nominations is February 15, 2007.
- Winning students must attend a school that is enrolled in Kemps Nickels for Schools.
- Nominators and nominated students must not be employees or family members of an employee of Kemps or its contracting agencies
- Winning students and their nominators must agree to participate in publicity activities.
- Winning schools must agree to participate in publicity activities.
- Winning students must be residents of the United States.
- For each winning student, a parent/guardian must complete and sign a consent form provided by Kemps that states that the parent/guardian agrees to have their child’s photo and information about them published.
